I've worn this pin for at least thirty years and it is very well made, as you can see on the reverse side. Yet there is no maker's mark. The enameled colors of pink and green are lovely. Does anyone recognize it?

Aquatic life has been a popular focus by designers of not only costume jewelry but fine jewelry also for over a century, ( if not longer). There are 1000's upon 1000's of these beautiful creatures out there , and without a mark literally impossible to find the maker.
Even the trombone mechanism spans 70 uears, 1880-mid- century.
He is quite lovely, and I hope someone has seen the likes of him.

I had never heard that term before--interesting. The photo doesn't do it justice.
      Thanks....

Trombone clasps were mainly used by high end French jewelry makers c.40s. Love your fish brooch, beautiful!! :)

Yes, katherinescollections is correct, European designers favored the trombone clasp.
