Hi Everyone , Sometimes in the collecting game you put off and try to avoid the truth about authenticity. You've been there right? Well at 31 dollars online the little voice in the back of my head has a certain asian accent. OK so the good: It's 6 1/2 inches by 8 1/2 inches tall weighs 8 lbs. And is crystal clear glass. The bubbles and the plant life show great detail ( bubbles inside the tubers) Now the bad the fish are OK not great. Kinda flat, Rut row! I like it ,but ...let me have the truth . I can handle it . Lol. B

I think Murano. The quality and details of the seahorse and fish are great!

Hi Pikaboo... Is the bottom frosted and look slightly opaque or is it shiny and very smooth to the touch?

Hi Rick and Kate! Will post bottom view of aquarium in a bit. Any ideas on designer would be great. The bottom is crystal clear and smooth as glass. thanks

You can post up to four photos, Pickaboo, can you put the others back? Views of the top side and base all may help with identification. :)

As far as the base is concerned Pickaboo, it looks good. Typically Chinese Muranos will have a frosted base. Recently however, I've read where the Chinese are even finishing their bases now to make it even harder to tell. The price leans toward Chinese as these usually cost more. One other thing... the shape - larger on the top then on the bottom - is usually found on Chinese pieces. Again, nothing certain, but similar Murano pieces will have a more symmetrical egg shape. Now, as far as a maker's concerned... if it is in fact Murano, it's a generic piece. The main makers of Murano aquariums are Alfredo Barbini, which are normally square and signed, Cenedese, who uses different shapes than yours and also signs, and the most common Elio Raffaelli who always signs his pieces. So basically what we're left with, is a lower-end Murano piece or a better made Chinese piece. One last thing, you mentioned the fish being flat, which they normally are. Is everything else three-dimensional or is the whole image flat? If it has Dimension to it, it is most likely Murano.

Rick thanks for the detail and time! The 3d is good from the back side on the fish but flat from the front. The tubers and inside is all 3d . Bubbles are round and elongated both. No glass frags at the bottom and the sea grass in curved. Shop Goodwill purchase so the bid froze at each 30. Everyone bidding not sure lol.

That sounds good Pickaboo, I would say Murano although not a top-quality piece.

mezza luna aquarium rick did an excellent job , but i prefere assessment by inclusion and the depth of the dimension

actually it,s it is quite simple if you cant see the eyes ( and sockets) of the fish it, is not the best
