      Does it have a pea?

Dixon (& Sons) were very diversified and in business "forevera". Powder & shot flask back to the early 1800's.

It does have a spherical (pea) or ball. It can be just seen in the pic its quite big for the size of the whistle

"Fipple" ! I like that. May I use it ? I'll have to work that word into my auctioneer routine .

Haha its also the mouthpiece of a recorder or wind instrument.

You would never guess the meaning by hearing or seeing it, but it opens the imagination . LOL !

      Some whistles are pea-less.

The opposite end to a "Fipple" is a ballish top, with a hole running through it to have a loop for hanging,
      is called a Knop.

Which came 1st, the fipple or the knop ?
