Not sure what I bought here. I like the design on the top and bottom of this. The clamp spring is very secure and tight. Could this be something which hooks to a belt loop and holds a watch? Any guess's as to what it's purpose is and the age? Much appreciated!

You left out the most important part. What is the word on the inside of the round part of the clamp? I can see it but can't read it
There are no markings on the piece. Those are just scratches on the inside.
OK, sorry. I blew the picture up to 280% and there was a defined rectangle that looked like it had print inside it. Sorry for my error.

I'm just seeing this post- I recognized it immediately because I have several.
Mine are made a little differently on the clasp that holds the device to something such as your purse handle or belt.
I put a pair of vintage baby blue ladies gloves in one of the little glove holders and hung it on an old chifferobe I use.
