I found this ring in the junk section. I am sure it is sterling, even though it is not marked. The opal has such a wonderful blue/purple colour! When the light is right, it glows!
My best guess is that the ring dates to around the 1970's or so.

Oh sweet, this is very pretty. Opals are a very soft stone so you have to be careful what you clean them with! In face, you should just wipe the silver part of the ring and not soak it in anything. They are just like pearls. Very porous. So pretty.
