Prior to Andy Summers joining and then going on to global superstardom, this 1977 release was their first UK single on Illegal records. Written and produced by Stuart Copeland it didn't make much of an impact, but after the departure of Henry Padovani, Summers came into the fold and the rest as they say, is history.

      The worst band name ever.

Awhile back, I read a Police bio written by Stewart Copeland..I cannot recall title at this moment..In this bio, He is very candid with His time with the band and He actually had more negative to say than positive..He did not like 'Sting' too much toward the end of their tenure together, however, He and Sting did do a rendition of 'Roxanne' on the Grammy Awards a few years back.
He is a excellent percussionist and has been voted into the top ten by a Rolling Stone magazine poll...Great Post!!
Look up the band, 'Curved Air'??

Ah, Curved Air. I have 'Back Street Luv' on a 45 and my brother has a picture disc of one of their albums. I had a teen crush on the band's lead singer, Sylvia/Cynthia?
(if I remember correctly she was from the Netherlands, which added to her mystique :)). That was/is a great single.

Excellent! I have a dvd entitled' the Police Everyone Stares The Police Inside Out' A Stewart Copeland Movie. He narrates in depth about a lot of Police history. Curved Air, yes!

I'm a huge Police fan. I have all of their albums and I've seen them live (3) three times. The Ghost In The Machine tour, Synchronicity tour and again in 2007 on their reunion tour. Sting's son, and his band Fiction Plane, opened in 2007. Not only did his son inherit his old man's vocal chords, but he even looks like a young Sting!

A die-hard Police fan, eh? That's great you've seen them three times, lucky you. And thanks for the info on Fiction Plane. I didn't even know his son was following in his father's footsteps. :) I'll Google them right now. Thanks for the feedback.

Talk about serendipity. In the office this morning, catching up on a few admin things. Switch on the MP3 player and on comes "Bed's too big without you."
What a track. A perfect single. Time to dig out a few more Police tracks, methinks.

"Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic...."

Sir Eltonn John once said in a interview that he likes the ditty 'Every Breath You Take" so much that he wished he wrote if Elton has not written enough.

Hi Thomas, I'll definitely dig out 'Every Little Thing..." later today. Another great track. Good piece of trivia you shared there about Sir Elt. Cheers, buddy and have a great weekend.
      Si. :)
