    i bought this because the base has the same type of design as a lot of Rengetsu pieces. i think this is a really nice piece. nobody has been able to read the mark though. hopefully someday!

      Pretty bowl, love cabbage ceramics & have a great set of salad bowls similar to this made in Portugal

      Hi ho2cultcha!
      As you mention Rengetsu-style: as one of the ancestors of the Gorosuke lineage had close contacts with her and/or the 2nd Rengetsu; look out for marks of later Asami Gorosuke (V./VI.). Those are five-sided too, which is rare overall.
