Purchased at an estate sale today. Seller didn't have details. It has no obvious markings. I thought it was interesting, so now I have it. I'm trying to solve the mystery of its history. Help would be appreciated. I haven't been able to locate it online.

Almost seems too pretty to be a belt buckle! I can’t tell the size so forgive me for the silly question. Could it be something that you wear on your neck, almost like a choker?
I don't have a measuring tool nearby, but it's almost as wide as a standard CD. It's probably 3.5-4 inches wide.
The closest I can find is something called a nurse's belt buckle, but I haven't found one with this type of coloring.
I'm inclined to wonder if it's a precious metal. It bends very easily. I'll need to have a jeweler check it, because (like I said) there are no markings...and I don't want to risk breaking it.
Have you checked to see if it’s magnetic?
Good point. I hadn't checked. I have a strong magnet that I used to use for such things. I don't know why that escaped me. (Out of practice, I guess.) I pulled it out. The piece is not magnetic.
