Walther & Sohne 'Flötenspieler & Seerosen' (flute player) figurine, also known as 'Peter Pan'

Great German piece dates to 1934. Have seen other examples on internet with a plain bowl however mine has a bowl with water lilies and I have sighted a similar pairing since. I was a bit puzzled as to why a rabbit was included in the design but a Euro friend says rabbits are part of their version of the tale and are a good luck symbol.
