This has a mysterious 'U.S.' or 'V.S.' written on it's underside. I've seen lots of these onyx carvings from Mexico and this is one of the better and older ones i've seen. i think it's from the 50s, but that's just a guess.

i found out that this is real jadeite - good quality. i had thought that it was some kind of dyed rock.
