I recently bought this trunk and am wondering if anyone has any info on it, particular as it relates to the “30 38” markings on the handles and the symbol. Also, I’m interested in age. Any insight is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!!!

Lovely trunk! I’m thinking the markings in the leather handles are parts numbers. Welcome to Collectors Weekly!

Above is a patent for one of the variations of the trunk catch. F.J. Eichbauer's 1895 patent date can help identifying the age .It's not before that date.

Manufacturer Handle part numbers for trunks from 30" up to 38"sizes.
      Hope this helps.
