Here's some Remco Science Kits from 1961. My mother would often give me an educational toy along with my requested Christmas toys. I recieved a couple of these kits for Christmas around '61. I know one was the Mechanical Physics kit because I remember the trip hammer project. I can't remember what the other one was.
Here are the Jet Propulsion(with balloon power)#412, Electro Chemistry #413, Electric Motor #415, Mechanical Physics #416 and Printed Circuitry #417 kits. They came in these little canisters priced $1.00. They made around 10 different of these kits, I've seen Chemistry and Optical Illusion kits that I also remember. It seems the educational toys, chemistry sets etc., were the fad around 59-63. Maybe because of the space race. Most of these kits are missing parts, but the Physics kit has everything but the string and rubber band. That's cool because it's the only one I remember.
As I look back now I realize how these educational toys my mother gave me impacted my life. The Allied Electronics 100-1 Electronics she gave me spurred my intrest in electronics, later on I became an electronics tech for TI. When I look at these kits I realize what a wonderful thoughtful wise mother I was blessed to have.

    Thanks for looking in,
    Bill

Those look like fun. Better than getting underwear.

Thanks Thomas, I never had any explosions, but they still talk about the black hole I created with the Quantum Physics Kit. Lesson learned, read the instructions.

Thanks Apache, my mother was great about NOT giving underwear, socks(!), sweaters(I'm not a sweater person, I think I've owned 2 sweaters in 65 years), etc. But I unfortunately had other relatives that would give me the dreaded clothing items for Christmas. These are the same sicko's who also give fruit cakes for gifts. It takes a lot of time to remove the candied cherries from a fruit cake to have something edible from it.
