Got this at the Long Beach Antique Market along with a footlocker. This one has the original blue interior as opposed to the glow interior of my other vintage capsule. When you are a collector you need to have all the variations.
Water damage can be seen on the instrument panel which is typical. The capsule will float but tends to roll to one side then fills with water through the clear plastic hatch. It is not water tight at that point. But that is no big deal as it gave the GI JoeScuba divers something to do. I did get a request to play with the scuba divers in the tub.
I just have a small portion of the footlocker as it is hard to read. It was owned by a general! How cool is that. 4 stars at least, could be up to 8, maybe 10.
Very cool!! And how very appropriate for the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11 landing on the moon.
