Akai Reel to Reel

I shared the Sansui amp a friend gave me recently. He also gave me this Akai GX 280D tape deck. It was made in '73. It incorporated some new features for the time; a direct drive capstan servo motor and a Glass/Crystal Ferrite play/rec heads. I always wanted an Akai after I heard one with some JBL speakers. I had never heard such clarity before, it was amazing. It seems to work for the tape functions, I need to get some speakers to check the audio on it and the amp.
