I found this the other day and it was completely encrusted with calcium deposits except for a postage-stamp where i could see the beautiful glaze underneath. I'm not sure, but i think it may be Stockton Art Pottery from around 1900. i soaked it in vinegar for a day and scrubbed away as much as i could. there's just a little left i'll take care of later. I'm amazed at what great condition it is in underneath all the crud! no chips or even scratches!
i WISH i could find out more about this. i've got it mostly clean now - just a little more scraping to do.
