This vintage Coro set came to me with a missing earring stone. Who would have thought a blue rhinestone would be so difficult to match. But it was. There are just so many blues. There is a great jeweller in Calgary who does excellent repair ... stone replacement for vintage jewellery, as I’m sure there are in many cities.

This silver tone and blue rhinestone choker necklace, bracelet, earring set is Vintage Mint. The earrings are somewhat interesting. They are a combination screw and clip closure, which would lead me to want to think this set is a 1950s transition-to-clip earrings set. I have asked Coro experts to comment on the dating, and will update this post with their quality information when available.

I have never seen a vintage piece with a toggle clasp! Coro as been around for well over a century so I guess anything is possible with that maker!
Leanne, isn’t it wonderful that fine jewelers are taking vintage costume pieces seriously. I have a jeweler in my town that’s more than happy to clean / fix pieces! I believe they understand the value and history behind them.
Your Coro set is lovely, and to have “a set” is lucky as these pieces through the years have wandered away from one another most of the time. I’m still trying to put my Kramer sets together, quite a chore....

Eileen — Thank for your comments. I must admit, your pause at the toggle clasp sent me back to the set to confirm that this truly was a Coro parure. (I had taken the first three photos posted a couple of months ago.) I have now added the signature on the earrings just to complete the photos for this posting.

Leanne, I was in no way undermining your Coro bracelet!
As you well know, Coro has been around since 1901! Incorporated in 1913, and the name “CORO” adapted in 1943. Over a century of beautiful jewelry making, I’m betting there are more bracelets by Coro with a toggle clasp, since the clasp was invented in the 70’s, and Coro lasted until 1979 in the US, and 1998 in Canada. So I certainly have learned something here, and your bracelet is most likely one of the last great designs made by a iconic jewelry company :)

Oh, I should add, this is just my two -cents!
I am in no way, shape or form, an expert on Coro.

Wow, nice to have the whole set!

Oh, I didn’t think that you were, not for even a moment, Eileen. Smiles. This type of forum sometimes distorts messaging, doesn’t it. No voice ... inflection; no watching anyone’s face, etc., as they speak. I make attribution mistakes often. And I was actually attempting to correct one of such with this posting, so was rather fast in getting everything done and up here, thinking I’d hurt someone’s feelings. Also, I don’t only have Coro jewellery; so I just began thinking this might really be a Monet set I’d posted — after seeing your comment: which wouldn’t have been improbable. I just needed to confirm. Thanks for your comments. -L.

It’s a rather nice set, Mrstyndall — certainly has some weight, and prong set. Thanks.
