Very cool brooch but would hate to meet this big guy if real :-) I hope someone can help you ID .
Check on the pin /needle.Sometimes there are very small marks. It's a beautiful creature - as a brooch that is :)
It looks like there is a marl right in the middle!
Sorry, it should read "mark" not "marl"
