Found this bakelite necklace yesterday in a antique shop in a small town close by. It was hanging on a child manikin. Maybe it was made for a child? Or if not it is a choker. It's only 19-20 cm long (double from clasp to clasp). The color is somewhere between honey and butterscotch? The largest bakelite bead is 1,5 cm and the smallest 7 mm. Small pale yellow chrystal beads in between. Hidden screw in bead to close with.

I would welcome thoughts on if it is a child rens necklace or a choker. How would you describe the color? I get confused with the different yellowish colors of bakelite.

Thanks for your answers and Mary - queen of vintage plastic-I think you are right. Butterscotch choker necklace.

Yes that is true, you are right ofcourse. No seed beads on this so probably from a non highend place. They don't look scratches yet, maybe it has not been worn a lot. It is too short for me since I think choker looks better on young people. It was inexpensive (lack of knowledge here of bakelite) so I might use it to make a longer necklace from it. Good to know about the seed beads. Thanks for your knowledge on this. Butterscoth :) and not so important exactly about the nuance.
