Received this from my grandfathers estate and just looking for a bit more info. Year made, if there is a model name etc. is heavy cast. Very neat piece. Runs well. Grandpa was big into clocks, had hundreds. Some he tinkered with, some were in perfect condition that he kept wound and running. When they all went off at noon or midnight it was a grand cacophony!
    Thanks for any info!

      Hello Mel0530,

      Welcome to Collectors Weekly, Clocks.
Your heirloom clock is an Ansonia model called the "Brantford" and is from circa 1904. You example could have been manufactured several years before or after that date. It is an enameled iron case mantel clock. Finished in black with bronze or gilt ornaments. Your grandfather's version of the model listed for around $10 originally. In 1904, that wasn't cheap. It is a well made, mass produced clock and is a fine example of American black mantel clocks from that era.

      Here's another example online: https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/10127048_111-ansonia-mantle-clock

If that solves your mystery, please indicate "mystery solved" in your listing.

If you have more questions, please feel free to ask.

Thanks for sharing your Ansonia Brantford with us.
