Made in Sweden?? Maybe I'm missing something obvious (European market?) but I sorta always thought Electrolux was a USA company...??

Nope. Definitely originated in Sweden. I worked for them from 1965 to 1971. Copy and paste this link to check out a history of the company:

I've recently seen the date of origin listed as 1921, but this is either erroneous or refers only to their Sweden efforts before coming here in 1924. I'm 78 now, and hope to sell the whole collection for a few thousand before it's "time".

Thanks for your message. Yes, the 1924 Model V Electrolux is still available. As my post describes it, there are no tools. My whole collection of mostly-rare Electroluxes consists of their tanks only. Since I began working for the company (1965 to 1971), I've always been enamored with the beauty of the tank itself. As the company's 1979 historic page of all the models and years had photos of each tank, that was what my display consisted of for my collection. I actually have only one tank that I believe is even more rare than the Model V, which in all the collections I've seen through the years, no one was even aware of it existing: the "Type 7". My guess is that it was sold only in Sweden before they began being sold in the USA; maybe from around 1921. See my other post, which has images of some other tanks in my collection. I've just posted a photo of the brochure in a separate listed item for you to see.
Thank you for your message. I am from Europe (Romania). I just bought a Model V 3 days ago. I like it very much. I was told it is complete but looking at yours I see mine has a few missing parts. It also looks a little bit different then yours, more like this one: https://www.etsy.com/listing/953384681/vintage-electrolux-cannister-vacuum - but my box looks older and I also have a cool metalic flexible pipe that came with it. I will write to Electrolux in Sweeden to see if maybe they can help me understand what parts I am missing and if it compatible with yours. How much would you want for it?

Thanks for your message. Most true vac collectors would say you got way better than a steal! It should be worth ten times the price you paid, even if that was less than the asking price! Fist of all, that is NOT a MODEL V! Please carefully compare it with my photos, and check the round brass plate on its body to find the term "Type 7". I'd bet that's what you have. Way more rare than the Model V. Not only did you get apparently great condition, but the full complement of tools! Of course, the "beauty" is in the eye of the beholder, and it also depends the "audience" or market that you're consulting for value, neither of which is large. My ask would look like a joke in comparison, since, 1. it's the tank-only, and 2. even then, I'd be over double what your ad shows. If you have a Type 7, it's worth researching more (and I'd be very much interested in your findings). Congratulations and good luck!
I think you were right. There is a V down left in the round brass plate and that is why when I bought it I thought it is a Model V. I also think I saw it in a 1926 picture of Elektrolux Factory in Berlin from an article about Model V (the same link you provided in the comments some months ago). But down right in the plate it is written Typ 7. So I think you are right. I buy a lot of vintage stuffs and this is intended for a small house I want to decorate with as less plastic as possible, mostly scandinavian style. I am planning to use it 2-3 times a year (because it works :) ) but it needs a lot of attention and has some missing parts. Do you know where can I read more about it? Thank you!

1. I'm sorry, but with just the little information I've offered, I've probably reached the limit of my knowledge on the subject, and can't even suggest where you would search.
2. Like most everyone else, you and I approach all this from completely different perspectives. I would not use this vacuum for its original purpose since it has only so much mileage left to its precious life, and I wouldn't want to take the chance of using the last ten minutes of it cleaning a rug.
3. Considering that you can buy 10 times more vacuum power and efficiency for 1/10 of what you paid for it, I would spare its motor and use it for display and authenticity only. You could hide the modern vacuum in a closet.
You have a rare gem there - but not all of us are in this for the money, so enjoy!

You helped a lot. Thank you, sir! I think I will also take your advice on not using it. The house is small so a broom will do just fine. My baby boy seems obsessed with vacuums (he likes them more than he likes toys) so maby he will get to appreciate it too when he grows old. I will get back to you after I find more information on this model, who knows, maybe I will need your tank also.
