Found this at a flea market for $50.00 got home looked it up made from 1930 1940 mid century, its 48 inches round made out of hard plastic, the people who owned it said it was left in a old house they bought still hanging on the wall and hated it, I offered them $25.00 and they thought they screwed me. When I looked it up it was selling for $1,200 I about fell out of my chair I love it its kool. Should I repaint the gold paint or leave it alone?

Please don't paint it. What's it made from? Can you replace a couple of the pics with ones taken in the natural light, the ones you posted are a bit dark. Oh yes, don't paint it.

They called it Bakelite, I have a old carnival camera made in 1919 and it's made out of Bakelite, the camera was made for kids it's real small an they really worked
