I really don't know who he is but he is not soap stone, I have a few of those but this one is very solid. He is engraved all over but the back and especially the base are flat. His friends look like small monkeys and the object in the hand looks like a fish or maybe a bat? There is a label on the base but I can't read Chinese. The last owner was a lady who travelled the East quite a long time ago. 170mm long and 75mm high.

Thanks Manikin, had a bit of a look at Jasper on Mr Google and it does come in those colours!
Maybe Unakite is a marriage of olive-green Epidote, red Jasper, and speckles of pink Feldspar. Worth checking out
