Recently given by a friend, unusual piece that I would appreciate some information about please? Age, etc as I do not know anything at all about it. Would love to know more information. Made from a mesh/steel type material, would it be tribal?

While the so-called slave bracelet is still popular to this day, it has been around for a long time, and yours could well be vintage, considering that it appears to be made from brass.

Thank you for your help. I literally don’t know anything about old pieces/jewellery etc. my friend sadly passed away and she collected unique pieces and it was her wish to pass them to me so I’m trying to research a few pieces to find out where they are from, age, when they were worn i.e special occasion etc so your help is appreciated.I’m new to all of this.
You might try looking for "chain maille" as part of your search terms, I believe that's what its construction method would be called. Chain maille (or chain mail) is also commonly found used on shirts, jackets, and head/face coverings associated with medieval styled garments.

the ring part is rather sturdy , so i think it is an tribal piece , also probably rajasthan
i think this is vintage maybe 60-70 i am just guessing there are made everywhere but mostly Rajastan or Utar Pradesh

Any opinion on the metal? It looks a bit yellowish, and I can see bits of greenish oxidation here and there.

i think it is brass with low copper percentage, but you acid test it, this is no bronze
the other bracelet we have to assess on Banjara i think, it does make some sense
local silversmith got test sets for silver and you can buy silver test indicators, it will cost peanuts
