Used to trim the wick to the shape for the optimal brightness that the lamp can emit.
Kerosene lantern wicks lose their shape with repeated use, making the brightness diminish.
This tool reshapes the wick to the proper radius that will shed more light when burned.
To use, you place the tool over the kerosene burner, and with the wick sticking through the two scissor like blades, you trim the wick in the arc that throws the best light.
