This is a collection of vintage matchbooks, mostly from places in midtown Manhattan, dating from the 1950s to 1960s with alphanumeric phone numbers (as in “Pennsylvania 6-5000”).

Thanks Dav and Phil. I work in midtown Manhattan (or did and will again, once we’re back in the office) and it’ll be interesting to find some of these addresses to see what’s there now since most of these establishments are long gone.

Oh, what fun it will be to track down these places, MMNJ! The colors, art and advertising on vintage matchbooks can be super nice, plus a lot of mine do bring back memories, like PhilDMorris commented. You have a nice collection! I’ll post some of my matchbooks one of these days. Thanks for sharing!
