This is a rather large moth with a wingspan of over 9 inches. And the surface area of the wings is huge. Larger than that of a bird or bat of similar size. They could keep you cool on a hot summer night flapping around. I have a fork in photo #2 to show scale. It is a dinner fork not a salad fork.
Looks like it is older as the back has been reinforced with tape.
In the last photo it is on display where it it is displaying nicely.
