There is not much I can find on this Sanyo Electric CO. Voltage Control. It works perfectly and the meter jumps to place upon each switch of the dial. I've plugged lights into it. I'm sure my father used it to regulate voltage when testing certain sensitive audio electrtronics.

I found one other website featuring the type 100 that has one outlet on back and a light socket on top and the location was in Japan.

So as far as I can find this may be the only one on the internet in USA. I'm unsure the date time period? So my mystery is when was this device created and used originally? How old is it?

"Sanyo created a separate affiliate in 1959 called Tokyo Sanyo Electric which, lue hoped, would make it easier for the company to respond to market demand and to raise capital."
