1963 The BIG Sounds of the Drags in Stereo
Descriptive on-the-spot recording of thrill packed moments from the quarter mile tracks.
This in full dimensional stereo. You could also get this Capitol Record in regular monophonic.
This particular recording was done at the 1963 NHRA Winternationals (commonly known as the Winternats) were a National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) drag racing event held at the Auto Club Raceway in Pomona, California on February 17, 1963.
The top gas class win went to Bob Muravez (in the John Peters and Nye Frank owned Freight Train) over Connie Kalitta. Other websites listed Peters as the driver. The Freight Train also posted both top speed (185+) and low E.T. (8.36) for gas dragsters. The twin engine dragster is pictured on the cover.
A pretty interesting a fun album. Once in a while I'll crank up the volume in my workshop on a quiet evening.... :)
