1950s Singer Mini-Max Skirt Maker and Pay'nSave Yardstick

The Singer Mini-Max Skirt Maker is a style C-18-R. This tool is used to quickly pin an even hemline on a skirt.

The Pay'nSave yardstick has the old style telephone number...two letters and five numbers. This system started in the 1930s and lasted well into the '60s. Before that, three letters and four numbers were used.

"Pay 'n Save was a retail company founded by Monte Lafayette Bean in Seattle, Washington, in 1940. Over the years, Pay 'n Save was the leading drugstore chain in Washington and was the owner of several Washington-based retailers, including Lamonts and Ernst."
