1972 Nixon & Agnew Campaign Button

    Approximately 1 1/2 wide.
Marked: Feeley and Wheeler Lexington, New York City & Official Nixon Button

Ahh the great thing about history is, you can't change it. What happened is what happened, like it or not.

"The 1972 United States presidential election was the 37th election to take place between Richard Nixon and Democratic Party candidate George McGovern. C.R.E.E.P. (Committee for the Re-Election of the President) was later found guilty of illegal acitivites to re-elect Nixon such as money laundering and links to the Watergate scandal.

Nixon and Agnew were elected as running mates for the Republican Party. Once Nixon resigned, Agnew followed with his own resignation to avoid tax evasion."

      dav2no1, Um...cool? };-)

Aside from anything else about that era of U.S. political history, what in holy h*ll were Nixon's troops thinking when they named their organization so that it would produce an acronym like CREEP?

dav2no1, Yup, or like villains out of Get Smart. };-)

You'd think that the people who formed an organization to get Nixon re-elected would have come up with a more-flattering name.
