This is a CDV sized tintype of a Civil War soldier.

The gold tinting has made his cap insignia a little hard to decipher-- either "crossed cannons" meaning he is artillery or "crossed sabers", meaning he is cavalry.

He wears a standard Union enlistedman's frock coat with shoulder scales.

He has a large Colt revolver stuck in his belt.

The backdrop on this image is very involved-- large US Flag, cannon, camp scene, and a horse pulled wagon.

Reproduction of this image in any form is not authorized.

    Thanks for looking,

    Scott

I forgot to mention: this is most likely an early war photograph. The shoulder scales were not worn as much later in the war.

Whenever I see these kinds of photos, I always wonder if they made it.

Thanks for looking AmberRose-- it certainly is a question to ponder.

The identified photographs are more desirable for that exact reason-- you can track down the history of the soldier and determine where they fought/ wounded/ POW/ KIA.

USA-- here is a Civil War image that I previously posted on CW that I thought you might enjoy seeing!

I have about a hundred (maybe more) CW soldier images-- many Ohio guys that I will post if you have an interest.

Thanks-- I guess some would call it a buck or two image, but I would put its market value a little higher!
