Here's something different & cool that I picked up in a local op shop for a low price - a snazzy ceramic biscuit box from the 1920s.
White with orange & black details, it features metal fittings & is in absolutely mint condition. Amazing to think it is 100 years old!
There are some markings on the base. I found one similar for sale online which is attributed to Waechtersbach (I have a couple of funky 1970s mugs by this maker).
German origin, 1920s.
It’s Fabulous.
Adore these keramik jugendstil
Oh, this is over the top wonderful!!!
Many thanks, Kevin!
Thanks also, kivatinitz! Yes, I've long admired this type of ceramic & have hoped to get an example, & this one fit the bill to perfection!
Much appreciated, Scott!
IronLace, That's beautiful. <3
What it reminded me of at first glance was what my mother would have called a "train case." A beautiful, small, ceramic version, of course. };-)
Many thanks, keramikos!
