Hello everyone!!
A few years ago I posted a cast iron "Oscar The Goat" still bank. Well, low and behold, I managed to add a second one to my collection. The originals are difficult to come by, so I bought this one as soon as I saw it. I've seen these in a few different color variations, but I think I like this variation best of all. Pic #4 shows both of my Oscar The Billy Goat still banks together.
I knew there had to be a story of Oscar out there somewhere, and it turns out that there are several different Oscar The Goat stories. There are many Oscars out there on the market, and most I see are reproductions. These are both original Oscars as their castings are nice smooth and tight and much more defined than the reproductions. They're both from the 1930's and are quite heavy at 8lbs each!! ! So, Oscar can also double as a doorstop. Oscar stands 7 3/4" tall and 9 1/2" long.
Thanks very much for taking the time to stop in for a look!!
