This autumn I have seen blue jays twice in my backyard, a rare occurrence & something of a good omen I'm told. They are certainly beautiful birds & their varied shades of blue was captured well on this piece

sklo42 thank you for your lovely comment & observation... seeing a gorgeous blue jay for two straight days reminded me of our beloved blue parakeet (budgie) of 12 years, I like to think of him flying above the clouds & wouldn't it be a joyful afterlife if we could all see our pets again :))
It certainly would for me. The cat beside my name was a very special cat called Moses. I had cats before him but never since. I wouldn't find his like again.
He was such a beautiful cat and like my little bird Sidney, they were special in our lives & who knows, they could be waiting in the hereafter for us - nice to think so right
