This was a super surprise under the Christmas tree today! A cool Victorian glass basket in a brilliant cadmium yellow, with a wonderfully tactile hobnail decor, & applied crest & thorn handle in olive green.
There is a pinkish orange glow under UV light to confirm the cadmium content.
Most likely Bohemian origin, late 19th century.

So pretty!
Is it Welz .?.
Many thanks, DejuvVu2!
Hi Kevin, I think it could be, the cadmium yellow & the overall vibe seems Welz - like…
Beautiful piece. A possible manufacturer could also be the Franz Tomschick glassworks. They certainly produced hobnails around 1925 (2 drawings of this optical decor), but I did not find this shape in the drawing books (from 1927 - 1950).
I love spiky handles!
Like Kevin I wondered if it was Welz. I couldn't say it isn't. However the two types of 'hobnails' done by Welz are more surface texture than true hobnails as seen on your basket. But who knows what will turn up tomorrow!
Many thanks, Ales, that’s very interesting!
Thanks also, Bernard! This is my first green spiky handle!
Much appreciated, Peggy! Now it is sitting in a row of known Welz baskets of various decors, & it’s fitting in nicely. Harrach did some hobnail baskets too, I have a large cased uranium white/pink lined specimen of theirs. The cadmium yellow is pretty close to other Welz pieces I have in this colour, though it can vary a bit.
