This mahogany dining chair was sold as English, early 19th century. I don't doubt that it's English, but in my opinion it would be very late regency or rather William IV. The furniture cover is not original, but from the middle of the 20th century. Maybe you can date the chair more precisely ?

Thanks dav2no1. I did and I also performed a google picture search. There Dutch Antieksite.nl showed chairs like my, categorized as English, ca. 1840.
