This figure is of the Special Naval Landing Force aka Japanese Marines. From the Battle of Tarawa in 1943. Of the 4800 Japanese troops there only 17 survived.
The accessories are easier to see here in the box of which there are many down to the ammunition for the Arisaka rifle.
