THIS LOOKS TO BE VINTAGE. NO MAKERS MARKS OR NOS. IT IS ALL OF 21/4 INCHES HIGH AND HEFTY FOR IT'S SIZE. DON'T THINK ITS ALUMINUM, NOT MAGNETIC. PEWTER MAYBE?

Is there a little loop anywhere? On the collar perhaps? I have a small metal dog that is similar in size and it came with a tiny mechanical pencil attached to it. It too is much heavier than it might be for the size. Perhaps your dog is also a pencil guardian? :O)
Do a Google for cast lead dog, look at images. You will find him part way down the page. Says he is an English bull dog.
I have the same but in celluloid painted white and brown and has a little logo that saids IRWIN made in usa.
