Such a cute little rouge or lipstick compact with bevel mirror on back. Its 1 3/4 inches round. Originally I think this was silver plate, but that has long worn off, now the brass is showing. Small little silver marcasite doggy on a green enamel. His eye is a red stone or glass. Has a makers mark inside, I have no idea who made this, anyone know?

When I loop it, it has a patent no. 1973433 and F co and an upside down F inside a shield. If that helps. :-)

Here is a link to your paten number. http://patimg1.uspto.gov/.piw?Docid=01973433&homeurl=http%3A%2F%2Fpatft.uspto.gov%2Fnetacgi%2Fnph-Parser%3FSect1%3DPTO1%2526Sect2%3DHITOFF%2526d%3DPALL%2526p%3D1%2526u%3D%25252Fnetahtml%25252FPTO%25252Fsrchnum.htm%2526r%3D1%2526f%3DG%2526l%3D50%2526s1%3D1973433.PN.%2526OS%3DPN%2F1973433%2526RS%3DPN%2F1973433&PageNum=&Rtype=&SectionNum=&idkey=NONE&Input=View+first+page

Thanks macpicker and tikiray! Yesterday you motivated me to check out my patent no. The patent was from 09/11/1934, to a Harry C. Foster. It even had the pictures of a basic compact similar to mine. He must have let others use his design like a company called Volupte. Once I keyed in the patent no. into the google search, there were other compacts similar, one had a marcasite greyhound.
