I had an amazing day yesterday filled with treasure hunting, going home with bags full of treasures! Among which was this necklace which feels like a quality piece.

It is marked "made in france" on the pedant and then an "R" in an oval.

Costume jewellery is not really my area of expertise so I am looking for help. It feels like 30's-40's piece and all the stones are absolutely intact but will need a gentle wash (tips?)

Any help on identifying this maker would be appreciated.

Sorry Katya I don't know. But this is awesome!!! What other treasures did you find? I love a good day of hunting.

I got a beautiful large 40's ster silver and marcasite filigree brooch, a lot of scandinavian glass (signed and with labels), some scandinavian textiles, some modernist mid century designer pieces and a few cast iron cookware items including a griswold frying pan. Prices were just silly!

I'm taking a wild guess here, but your necklace could have been made by Roger Jean-Pierre due to the construction of the chain :)

I agree with Sammy. Definitely Roger Jean-Pierre -- the hook is also his typical style. Usually his pieces were sold with a paper tag.

    Here is another green one:

And here is a typical back view showing construction:
