Custom Pin with (Imitation?) Opals

This is one more of my $1 - or less finds. I believe I actually paid 50 cents for it and I don't think it is worth much at all, but I was taken by the colour of the "opals." In reality, the stones look like the real thing, but I wouldn't bet on it. The pin looks like it is rhodium plated and at one point might have had a safety chain. I could not find any markings on it at all.
