Santi Pozzi is a young rock-poster artist from Argentina who has moved to the San Francisco Bay Area for a few months. Yesterday at the TRPS Festival of Rock Posters, I met Santi in the course of getting his signature on a poster he created with Chuck Sperry for a Pearl Jam show earlier this year in Buenos Aires. While I was chatting with Santi and his girlfriend, Maria, my eye kept returning to this image for a 2013 show by a band called Prietto Viaja al Cosmos con Mariano, which Google Translate says means "Prietto traveling the cosmos with Mariano." In case you are wondering, the band is a Black Keys-esque duo, to the extent that one plays the drums and the other plays the guitar, but their music is folkier and a bit more emo.

As for the print (edition of 50, just under 18 x 24 inches), its inspiration appears to be two psychedelic-flame prints by Wes Wilson, one from 1966 (2nd from right) and another from 1967 (far right). Wilson was also at the TRPS show yesterday, and it was very cool to witness the moment when Santi presented Wilson with one of his prints as a gift and thanked him for being such an inspiration to younger artists. Wilson seemed genuinely touched that his work could have such an international impact.
