    I cannot tell about his division. A USA soldier with a calm demeanor. Has a hat that is army issued I think. Tell me what you think about em.

      Definitely WW1. My grandfather fought in that one so that's how I know. Uniform or tunic, as they called them, were made with many different style pocket flaps and buttons, depending on what branch you served in. I still have my grandfather's tunic and all the stuff that goes with it. Great picture!

      The hat is definately army issue too. My grandfather was in the infantry and had the same hat.

      Agree, it is WW1 era.

      There is no division (unit) patch. The patch on the arm is crossed rifles showing he was infantry. He also wears collar brass insignia that appears to show "MG" indicating that he was in a Machine Gun Battalion.
