    (80 items)

This measures approx. 3-1/2" tall by approx. 4-1/2 inches wide. It is a heavy blown piece that at some point someone decided to paint white and someone tried to remove and gave up. I gave it a go with my q-tips and it's going to take a minute.
This piece has very good light and reflection.
My camera phone pics do not look quite like what I see on the internet as far as the concave bottom.
If anyone has any tips to clean the paint off that won't scratch it I would appreciate it.
    Thanks for looking everybody.

** In my 4-5 months here I have never seen so much activity on the CW site. Love it.
    Happy hunting!!

You're probably right about it being Blenko. Here's another picture:

Thanks swfin. I missed that one but I'm gonna q-tip this thing until... it looks normal. My cell camera certainly picks it up. UGH It looks like a luminal crime scene in a pic but not to look at it.
      Thanks again. :)

Oh, that's a lovely vase, OGF! Not knowing anything about Blenko, are you sure that white coating wasn't something applied at the factory? That might explain why it's so hard to remove.

OMG! That never crossed my mind. I didn't see anything that looked painted yesterday or today on the internet before I went back in and bought it. I was so bundled up a few weeks ago when I went in the shop, my eyes were watering and I couldn't tell if it was glass or chipped pottery. Today I just scraped one little piece of the white off and figured it was paint and bought it. Then I tried to get it all off. I sure hope I didn't mess it up.

Thanks! That was pretty much the reaction I was going for with the 'cartoon' hair and the Kilroy-style shot. : )

I don't remember any of the Blenko bowls having paint applied deliberately so you're probably okay to remove it.

      Frilly knickers!
I just wanted to say that.....
Love the vase and I doubt Blenko painted it.
I f you are patient just soaking it in water for a while, the some more, should soften it up.

What a great find! The design sort of reminds me of ribbon candy. I can't imagine why anyone would want to paint a beautiful piece like this.

Just wondering if you used paint thinner. I used to use tubs of Muriatic Acid to do the work, but not sure if I would recomend it as the fumes are killer.

Thanks for the love blade but I have not caught up to yesterday yet. TGIF.
It's too cold here to open the windows and I have never used anything but temped water, a little antibacterial dawn, elbow grease and q-tips on the glass. This is the first piece of blown glass I have seen that somebody painted. I will try to soak it a few times while it's still cold and if duty calls I'll give it a go. I'm pretty certain it will take the paint of but do you think it will mess up the glass?
