I received this piece today - it's an ebay buy. I think it's silver with an Asian decoration - however I'm not very sure about it. The brooch is made up from plates and hollow inside. It looks it's antique, but I heard lots of fakes are out there. Any info is greatly appreciated.

It seems to have the Wright wear to it. I have a set on site that resemble your brooch the elephant head I call it & the mask or what every it is on the other side. With mine which stands about two inches high the silver has worn off the brass underneath with just still enough on it to know it was all covered at soem stage. I would love to know anything at all about them. I thought there may be some type of luck or protecting that they stood for. On that I am not even really sure. Are you anymore knowledgeable on this subject.
