This is a knife that has been handed down through the family. I would love to know more about it. Anything:
- Where it came from?
- How old is it?
- Is it worth anything?
- Etc.???

There are marks at the bottom of the blade.
The blade has G. Schrade Knife Co. on it.
This is referred to as a "ball-pull" knife which is a type of switchblade or "automatic" knife. Yours has the die pull which is the most popular with collectors. They were made in many different colors and with various colored balls on the pull; they were popular as advertising premiums. Some were stamped with the Remington name but they were identical to the Schrade model and probably made by Schrade under contract. This knife would not have been legally sold after 1957. The Federal laws pertaining to switchblades only prohibit their transportation across state lines for commercial purposes, effectively making them illegal except in the states where they were manufactured. This law is rarely enforced. Otherwise, every local community has their own knee-jerk anti-switchblade law based on the perception that switchblade knives are dangerous and only used by criminals. Today many states are legalizing switchblades thanks to the efforts of Knife Rights Inc. (www.kniferights.org).

They sell for $60 - $100 if they work. Plain colors and simple advertising towards the lower end.
