There was never a gold double ring, this was the gold version for sale in the early day with the matching case in the owners initials. I only know of 2 like this and some others in the cases with the brush and soap.

Very nice. The design is amazing and so cool that you have the whole thing...case and all. Years ago when i saw how much some of these were fetching I was pretty shocked. They are still up there! But yes, I agree this one is pretty darn special!

Awesome Set. I have this Exact Same Razor, Except mine has silver lettering on Gillette Band that goes across on case and also silver lettering on Dull and Sharp Cases. I had to do a double take on this one. I remember having this set, went up to the attic and found it last night. I imagine a set like this goes for well over 1k easy. I've seen silver double rings go for as high as $750 But this gold one is way more Rare than a plain Silver Double Ring, for sure. There are probably like 3-4 of them in the shaving communities around the world.
Congrats on such a nice set and thanks to this post I remembered I bought this set about 8-10 years ago.
