This may be the oddest thorn vase of all! However it is an example of another colour of translucent glass made by Weiz.

The upper part of the vase is hexagonal with thorns coming out of the ribs on the points/corners of the hexagon. The ribs run from the cut rim to the base, where they widen out to become the points of a star shaped foot.

    Height 22.5 cm/8.75 inches

Wow Karen i love it...the color the shape and the thornes. I bet my glass flower would look grait in it :)

Peggy, are the thorns moulded or have they been pulled after moulding?
      I think it's a great piece.

Glad you like it, VikingGirl. Perhaps, but though I looked I couldn't find a flower among your posts!

Hi Karen, what a coincidence, I was only wondering about that this morning. On this one I think they were moulded. They are longer than they are wide and have no tooling marks. Perhaps the others too, it would make economic sense. A one off extra task for the mould maker against hand tooling each and every thorn vase produced.
