    Here is a rare variation of the black powders in vertical lines. I assume any time you see "lines" with powders or confetti the glass was pinched (by a mold) into a cog-shape. This shape would then be rolled over glass powders or confetti on a table. when the glass was blown full again the fine lines would expand to produce a line pattern. I assume the same technique was used by Franz Welz as well (although there is a variation using crystal clear rods). All three pieces I've seen have had an Iris finish
