This old saw was always in my Dad's garage since I was a kid. (I think I maybe, sorta, "helped" him use it once or twice even?) He recently commented, when I refused to let it get added to the "auction" pile of other assorted lawn tools, that it had actually been *his* father's originally.

Though it didn't occur to me until later, that little bit of trivia makes this a *very* unique addition to my own collection -- Grandpa B passed away when I was a child, and to my knowledge (now) this would be the *only* one of his tools now surviving that can be so identified. (though I have several of Grandpa W's old tools, he passed away later and Mom and Dad ultimately inherited his entire garage along with the farm)

It is roughly 6' long, and I cannot (yet?) find any sort of maker's ID on it.

This is a cross-cut 2 man saw. From the ones that I've seen, without a name on the saw, it would be real hard to know who made it, they're all made the same!
Here's a company that makes them today:

You can probably find the other set of handles, that connect to the end of the blade, through the holes, instead of the top, and bottom edge.
Nice old 2 man saw, that you can hang on the wall, for the memories of your family, past! :^)

Thanks SO much to billretirecoll, fortapache, iggy, blunderbuss2, Windwalker, & Karl-Fodor for sharing the appreciation of my old saw!!

Bill, that is indeed exactly where it is right now -- on the wall in my basement 'on display'. This one's gonna remain exactly as it is...no additional artwork necessary IMHO. ;-) :-)

One more little bit of useless trivia: the one time I sorta recall helping my own Dad actually *use* it probably would have been in the mid 1970's when a storm brought down 1/3 of a cherry tree in our yard. I woulda been an early teenager then, so mebbe would have almost been big enough to be more 'help' than 'hindrance'...?? <lol>
